Each Tina Chaden print begins as an original work of art. Inspiration for an image can arise from a visit to her garden or from a piece of ephemera discovered in a local flea market or collected from antique shops while traveling overseas.
First, working surfaces are prepared with plaster, sand and other materials to create the rich texured ground and the illusion of depth for which Chaden images are so well-known. The main elements such as flowers or fruit are carefully composed, sketched and then painted in acrylic paint. In the execution of the "Destination series" antique pictures are collaged, transferred onto the surface with acrylic medium and further enhanced by over-painting.
Working directly from the original, the paintings are scanned at the highest possible resolution and printed on quality heavy-weight paper using state-of-the-art offset lithography.
The result is a work of art, rich in content and timeless in appeal, that you will enjoy and treasure forever.
